Prologue:French Soldier Rescued
Since the village elder, Grandsilver rescued a wounded French soldier sapiens(humans) 120 years ago, he learned human lifestyle for four years.

After he was gone, they continued their lives with the tools used by the French soldier, and the biggest change was in the use of fire. "Sapiens (humans) are strong, kind and excellent animals" is Grandsilver's favorite saying.
By imagining the great abilities of sapiens (humans) who have been taught, the animals of Bubuland has built a peaceful paradise Bubuland with their own lifestyle.

Poachers and Crackamas Genetic Research Institute

One day, poachers suddenly take away tens of thousands of years of their happiness.
A young Tupachupa was separated from his family and sent from his homet
own of Bubuland in Midwest Africa to the Crackamas Genetic Research Institute in Oregon, USA.
There were four chimpanzee families in the laboratory (Kona, Pudding, Pink Lemonade, and Bagel).
Kona is 28 years old and a wild child born in Africa
.

Chimpanzee parents try hard to instill wild minds in their children, but they don't get it in the artificial environment.
However, the presence of Tupachupa was an encouragement to Kona.

In the few months in the laboratory, the bond with the family deepened, Tupachupa rapidly improved his learning ability due to his innate ability to draw.

Meanwhile Tupachupa finds an article about his elder brother Zig on the Internet.
Along with the "Prideful Chimpanzee" headline, he also discovers Nanna, the mother, pictured with Zig.

His brother and mom were at the New York Zoo.
At that moment, Tupachupa, who wanted to see his mother, repeatedly touched the screen with his finger, recalling the warmth of his mother.
Kona quietly watches the situation.
Kona told researcher Alex about it every day.
Tupachupa from then on didn't even move from in front of the Internet monitor.

Escape from the lab and Go to New York

Desperately searching for articles about his elder brother Zig, he touched the monitor with no images and continued to write pictograms in his sketchbook.
It was easy for Alex, who had studied the Tupachupa's emoji, to know what it meant.
Alex immediately consults with Director Jack about sending Tupachupa to his mother in New York, but Director Jack does not accept it.
Because he had a plan to use Tupachupa for cloning experiments to make a profit.
Of course, poaching of Tupachupa was also his plot.

Kona asked Alex to go to New York to cheer up Tupachupa.

However, since he doesn't have the authority to do so, he couldn't answer, and after agonizing over his worries, Alex decided to let him go to New York.
He was convinced that Tupachupa's ability would be OK.

When Alex told Tupachupa to go to New York alone, and he handed him a mobile phone.
Alex unlocked the lab and took Tupachupa to Portland Station.

Thrilling Transcontinental Adventure

A few days later, in the midst of anxiety and anticipation, Tupachupa decided to take on a thrilling adventure with Canal, a boy with an eye disease.
A young boy, Canal who wants to live positively.
From the Columbia River to the Cascade Mountains, from the Snake River to the Rocky Mountains, a 4-year-old Ape and a 10-year-old boy aim far into the unimaginable wilderness.
Along the way, they traveled with Debbie, who works with courage, Fred, who pursues his dreams, and an elderly couple, Chas and Liz, who live with love.

Three months from early fall to Christmas Eve.

From Oregon to New York transcontinental adventures and various people he meets wherever he go.

Epilogue :

What was waiting on a snowy Christmas Eve in New York?

What did Tupachupa throw at us in the relationship between animals and humans, such as cloning experiments, zoos, and pet problems?

Author's Comment

"What do people live for?"

The author myself believed that family should be something that should last forever.
My parents exist and I exist too. It was everything, nothing more, nothing less.
As it ages, the family structure changes. In the meantime, the answer I have arrived at is

"Isn't there actually no reason?"

Human beings have the ability to think and solve various problems.
From the point of view of the natural world, communities exist to protect families at least.
I thought it was natural that there is no difference between humans and animals.
I feel that the life of humans in the natural world has changed dramatically in the last 30 years. Isn't the development of technology, which is indispensable for people's convenient lives, actually destroying the balance of human life and community?
Looking back on history, during the industrial revolution in England, various technological innovations improved productivity.

But this era was still a time when "people" were needed.

For a long time, adults have taught children how to use tools and passed them down.
Now, children are realizing that if they have access to the Internet, they don't need an adult's presence, and they don't need a community. Devices are originally bought by adults for children, but in the IT society, there are situations where children teach adults how to use tools, and the situation is being reversed at the historical viewpoint.
I wonder Is this the first time in history?
Is this really okay?

If it is one wrong step It turns into only be felt on the virtual (brain) screen in front of you.
I feel a sense of danger that there will not be able to reach the important wisdom because they misunderstand the virtual experiences which touching overflowing information as real experiences.
Also I feel that with the development of technology and AI, people's lives have become so rich that they are no longer able to look back themselves.

This story shows how wonderful human beings are from the point of view of animals not humans.
I hope that it will be an opportunity for us humans to question the meaning of life.

Thank you.
